Our Roots
Advith and Robert met at Caltech and then later met Marty during the Kleiner Perkins Fellowship. The three started as software engineers at companies like Airbnb, Samsara, and Affinity, but knew they wanted to start a company together after.
The idea for Pylon came after they got excited about the emerging trend of chat-based platforms like Slack Connect and Microsoft Teams replacing email in B2B communication. They realized that all of the tooling built around email was no longer going to work, presenting a rapidly growing need for something radically different.
